Donations


The Online Business Guidebook Incorporated is a 501(c)3 public educational charity.  Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.   Your contribution helps us fulfill our mission of providing public education on how to start and grow an online business.   Your donation helps cover our operating costs, such as printing expenses, distribution expenses, and marketing expenses.  Surplus funds benefit the Virginia Tech Foundation, and fund scholarships and research.   Donors will be recognized in future editions of the Online Business Guidebook.   Here are some examples of how far your donation can go:

• a donation of $100:  helps us get a small box of free guidebooks out to a small business community or classroom
• a donation of $500:  funds a scholarship, for one student, for one semester
• a donation of $2,500:   covers mailing expenses to reach almost 250 small business communities or classrooms
• a donation of $20,000:  funds the printing and distribution of 1 small edition ( 10,000 copies ) of the guidebook
• a donation of $30,000:  funds the printing and distribution of 1 large edition ( 20,000 copies ) of the guidebook
• a donation of $100,000:  funds 4 editions (2 years) of the guidebook, including student scholarships
• a donation of $500,000:  funds 6 editions (3 years) of the guidebook, including student scholarships, and a multi-year student outreach program to allow our students to visit high schools and teach high school students about how to start and grow an online business
